Hang up & drive,
I’m addicted to emails & my blackberry. I’d drive an hour & never remember what I drove by. Now I can’t. This works

|Don’t waste your money,
In theory this is one of the best devices out there. Pros: One time fee, low battery consumption, will work when the child is driving a specific car – not when a passenger in someone else’s car. Most other devices will lock the phone down when moving (bus, train, in someone else’s car). Cons: The K2SD software stopped working after the first week. The K2SD company would not return phone calls or emails when asked for help. Poor customer service. I’m returning the product for a refund. Also, if the parent is not familiar with the child’s phone (like me), the child has to enter the security numbers, etc. Can you say “disable”?
I’ve been in the safety field for over thirty years; been a corporate safety director for a large corporation. I am computer literate. Bought this for college age daughter with a blackberry curve 8350. Instructions poor. Installation was frustrating, to understate it. Took several tries over the course of a month (because she was away at school). If you buy this, download the software to a PC and connect the phone to it. Download the instructions from the website; ignore the stuff that comes in the device package. Don’t try to download it to the phone directly unless you feel lucky and you yourself are phone-specific-literate.
I’ve switched over to a competitor’s product, Cell Control. More expensive but was easier to install (my daughter did it herself, no prompting from me). She likes it! Can you believe it? She likes not being bothered while driving. Allows incoming and outgoing calls if she uses her bluetooth ear piece. Locks down all texting. Much better product. Parent enters the admin controls from a website, he/she doesn’t have to mess with the phone.
I would not buy this product and would strongly recommend against it. Our childrens’ safety is worth the $100 per year for the 5 years (age 18-23) that they’re in our care for other products.
